Changes at Child Care Answers

Changes at Child Care Answers

The Indiana Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning recently procured new contracts for local community-based organizations to administer the local child care resource and referral (CCR&R) services for the State of Indiana; they also divided Indiana into five new Service and Delivery Areas. After bidding on and receiving the contract, Child Care Answers will continue in our role as Central Indiana's CCR&R agency. Some things about what we do - and who we will serve - will change starting October 1, 2019.

Families

Families can continue to contact us for support in finding high-quality child care. We will also provide onsite referrals to families where they already are: community events, social service agencies, or local employers.  Our activities will focus on methods that increase quality, affordability, and accessibility to early childhood education and out-of-school-time activities for Hoosier families. We’ll keep families informed about child care in their community by sharing information and providing education on our website, social media, local community events, and parent workshops.  Through these vehicles, we will also connect families with relevant resources in their community.

Child Care Providers

Our focus will shift to recruiting new Early Childhood programs into communities where there is a need for high quality child care. The Orientation trainings we host will get new providers off the ground as they start their child care businesses.  We’ll also provide resources to increase provider knowledge in business operations and make providers aware of community resources and capacity building grants available to them.  We continue to provide existing providers with support with Indiana Learning Paths, a section of I-LEAD where providers can register for face-to-face professional development sessions and take online training. We’ll also support providers in joining professional organizations and furthering their educationLearn more about changes in support for child care programs.

Community Partners

Child Care Answers will continue to be a part of local community groups and coalitions. We will work to increase the availability and accessibility of high quality child care in every county of Indiana, especially focusing on Hamilton, Hendricks, and Marion counties.  We will also partner with employers to find ways to best meet the needs of working families in Indiana.

Counties we serve

We will continue to serve families, child care providers, and the community in Hamilton, Hendricks, and Marion counties.

We wish our partners in Bartholomew, Brown, and Johnson counties well, as they will be served by Chances and Services for Youth (CASY) beginning October 1.
